THE PROJECT
Hi there! My name is Bailea (Bay-lee) and I am from Edmonton, Alberta. I have a Bachelor’s degree in History from MacEwan University. I have many interests but some of my favourite hobbies are embroidery, reading, and going to the movies. As a member of the LGBTQ2+ community I am most interested in Queer and Women’s history, however, I am open to any and all public/social history.

Come along as I collect local oral histories from people living in and around the Edmonton area! Listen to their experiences and compare them with your own.
This is a place to learn more about each other and to leave something behind for future generations.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by!
Methodology
The methods used in order to create this project revolve around my research question "What different experiences have come out of the Covid-19 pandemic in Alberta?". In order to answer this question, there are three key element to this project.
Ethics
I have completed the Research Ethics Training for Undergraduate Students at MacEwan University. I was given approval of my project application to the Research Ethics Board at MacEwan University.
Participants will be asked to sign a consent form outlining the potential risks involved.
Participants have the option to use a pseudonym and can request their interview be removed from the website at any time.
Storytelling as a Way of Knowing
Oral history hasn't always been seen as a viable source for understanding the past - our memories are fickle. It is my goal to validate the experiences of my participants. There is important information in long pauses, in the tone of your voice, and the words you decide not to say.
Future Researchers & Historians
The purpose of these interviews is to provide primary resources that will be available for researchers living during a time untouched by the Covid pandemic. The interviews will provide important data to future researchers looking to understand what living in the Covid era was like.
